Event Details

Join us for lunch and conversation with Kevin Pierce, a longtime leader of the sustainability movement and an expert in green building, design, architecture, and consulting. Kevin is involved in key sustainable design projects in the region, including six LEED platinum projects, 20 LEED EB projects, and a range of renewable energy work. He is the board chairman of the Resource Center, a non-profit active in sustainability for over 30 years, and he teaches building technology at IIT. Come with hard questions like:

  • Is LEED really worth it?
  • Is Chicago as green as it thinks?
  • What are some keys for instituting sustainability in the region?
  • Will green buildings help solve global climate change?

Lunch will be provided, deliciously sponsored by Green Monkey.

Host:
Kevin Pierce, AIA, LEED AP, CEM
Managing Director, Shaw Sustainable Design Solutions of Illinois, LLC

In addition to design and architecture, Kevin is involved in projects in city-wide green infrastructure, clean energy, and green building finance, and is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Energy Manager. He is a board member of both the Illinois and Chicago American Institute of Architects. He's adjunct associate professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology and has taught at the University of Oregon, the University of Illinois, and the Art Institute of Chicago. A member of the US Green Building Council, the American Institute of Architects, and the American Planning Association, Kevin is regularly invited to speak at national and regional conferences on architecture and sustainability.
